Chuck Ehlers prepares and prosecutes patent applications and advises clients on due diligence, freedom to market, patent infringement, IP litigation and validity matters. Chuck works closely with start-up and established businesses to develop comprehensive intellectual property protection and licensing strategies. His areas of practice include machine tools, business methods and software, electrical and electronics, nanotechnology, and mechanical inventions.
Chuck received his J.D., with honors, from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law in 1995, where he was a Managing Editor for the Law Review, and his B.S. in engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1992. He expects to complete his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2012. Before joining Hasse & Nesbitt, he practiced at a boutique complex litigation firm, a large regional firm, and founded and led a local manufacturing company for 10 years.
Chuck is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Cincinnati Intellectual Property Law Association. He is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the State of Ohio.
